What is Feng Shui?

Have you ever walked into a room and felt uneasy and wonder why? Have you ever notice a batch of land that is always bare no matter how many time people tried to plant anything there? Mechanical items keep on breaking down for no apparent reason when place at certain location?

These are some indication of the influence of energies on the environment and you. Now what can be done to improve the situation? Feng Shui!

Feng Shui is literality translate as 'Wind Water'. Wind the result atmospheric circulation and differential heating of the air. Water, a colorless, odorless substance which is essential to all living form of life.

So what really is Feng Shui? It is the study of energy by the ancient Chinese. All object in the universe, planets, mountain, rocks, plants, insects, you and me generate off energy. The Chinese named these energies as Qi. Feng Shui is the study on the influence of Qi between the universe and the earth upon objects. They classified the principal agents; the universe, the five major planets (Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Venus and Mercury) acting up all objects into five elements of nature.

The five elements are represented in the form of Mental, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. The understanding of the five elements is not limited to the physical substance. Instead it should be understand as the essence, the characteristic.

Every object, when break down, would be dissolved to one of these basic element. For example, the base material that make up of porcelain is sand. Thus a porcelain plate has the characteristic of Earth element.

It is important to observe the mutual relation of the Five Elements to each other. For they both enhance or neutralize or destroy each other when place in certain conjunction.

What can a Feng Shui consultant do with these knowledge? Identify: 1) the element type of the environment, 2) your type of element. Than provide an advice for an individual to take control of his own destiny and live a life of harmony with the environment.
