Qi
Thursday, November 20, 2008Qi, a Chinese term referring to vital energy, the life Force found in all living things. Every objects in the Universe contains Qi. Planets, Earth, mountains, valley, plants, you, me and even tiny insects.
In traditional Chinese medicine, Qi is the current that runs through the body. This smooth flow promote smooth flowing of the blood though out the organs and lymph. It regulate the organs, strengthening the immune system and protect one from disease.
Qi, although is not visible to the human eyes, it can be feel by everyone. You can always detect it from your body or emotion. You can recognize the feeling of been energized, blocked, depleted and loss.
By been in harmony both physically and emotionally, you feel energized. You are strengthening your Qi. By been obsess, worried too much, over work your body and emotion, you are weakening your Qi.
From our lifestyle, it shows how we spend our Qi. Unhealthy lifestyle would result in weak Qi and healthy lifestyle would result in a strong Qi. Often when you come a cross a person who seem to glow, is full of life, joyful and healthy, you can be sure that the Qi is very strong. On the other hand, a person who is always temperamental, unhealthy, basically someone who always seem to have a dark cloud following him. You would find that his lifestyle is unhealthy, obsess, full of abuse intentionally and unintentionally both on the physical body and emotionally. Unhealthy habit weakens the Qi. It block or make your mind unclear. Your emotion become uncontrollable. You are constantly depressed, angry and fearful.
When there is a strong flow of Qi in ones body, it is easy to be happy, contented, welcome challenge. And you would always find that this feeling is contagious. You feel more joyful, energized or even think better around such a person.
It is important to be conscious at all time on how you treat your Qi. Take charge of your lifestyle. Start now!
